Mrs. Stone’s 3rd grade class investigated the gravitational force by designing roller coasters. Kids split up into small groups. They designed their own roller coasters, built the roller coasters with foam piping and masking tape. They then tested their roller coasters with marbles. Students explored making different configurations of the roller coasters. Then, they explained how their roller coasters worked and the impact of the gravitational force exerted by the Earth.
