Our fifth graders in Señora Ward’s classes have been learning about the Properties of Matter and States of Matter. They made oobleck (a fluid made from corn starch and water that temporarily thickens or solidifies when a force is applied) and were excited to see that when they pressed down on it, it was a solid – otherwise it was a liquid.
