Dear Canyon Crest Families,

We are happy to announce that our Community Reads books are here! We are ready to begin having families select a book in which you can read together during Spring Break and hold family discussions around diversity. You will find a card in each book that we would like our students to either draw a picture or write a short paragraph about the book your family read. Once you have completed your book, students can bring the card to school and we will create a mural of our community reading. There will also be an online opportunity for parents to share their experience with other Canyon Crest families. We hope you are able to take this opportunity and enjoy a great read with your children and have family time to discuss some good literature.

Books will be distributed by parents coming to the school and picking a title you feel appropriate for your school-aged children. These are books you can keep at home. If there are multiple titles you would like to read with your family, we will most likely have additional books to be placed in homes. When cards are returned to the school, parents may come and choose another title.

For our initial book distribution, we have created the following schedule for pickup by LAST NAMES during school hours:

Monday, March 28^th – Last names T-Z

Tuesday, March 29^th – Last names M-S

Wednesday, March 30^th – Last names G-L

Thursday, March 31^st – Last names A-F

Friday, April 1^st – Anyone who was not able to pick up on a previous day.
