Wax Museum Success

Our 5th graders presented their WAX MUSEUM last week that they have been working on for quite a while. They all did such a great job! Here are some of the amazing people that were there. :-)...
Dear Parents,
The Provo City School District Center for Accelerated Studies (CAS) is an accelerated program for students in 4th, 5th and 6th grades who desire a fast-paced and challenging classroom. CAS offers accelerated programs for 4th, 5th, and 6th grades at two magnet sites: Provo Peaks (Timpview boundaries) and Sunset View (Provo High boundaries).
To be considered for placement in the CAS program, all 3rd grade students took the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) earlier this year. An optional assessment is now being offered for 4th and 5th grade students which will take place in February at each elementary school. If you are interested in having your child participate in this assessment, please contact your child’s teacher no later than Monday, January 30th.
Assessment results will be available on Power School approximately 3 – 4 weeks following the assessment. Students who qualify for placement in CAS will receive invitations as space becomes available in their grade-level class.

El Centro de Estudios Acelerados (CAS) del Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de Provo es un programa acelerado para estudiantes de 4to, 5to y 6to grado que desean una clase de ritmo rápido y desafiante. CAS ofrece programas acelerados para 4to, 5to y 6to grado en dos sitios magnet: Provo Peaks (límites de Timpview) y Sunset View (límites de Provo High).
Para ser considerados para la colocación en el programa CAS, odos los estudiantes de 3er grado omaron la Prueba de Habilidades Cognitivas (CogAT) a principios de este año. Ahora se está ofreciendo una evaluación opcional para los alumnos de 4º y 5º grado que endrá lugar en febrero en cada escuela primaria. Si está interesado en que su hijo participe en esta evaluación, póngase en contacto con el profesor de su hijo a más ardar el lunes 30 de enero.
Los resultados de la evaluación estarán disponibles en Power School aproximadamente 3 – 4 semanas después de la evaluación. Los estudiantes que califiquen para la colocación en CAS recibirán invitaciones a medida que haya espacio disponible en su clase de nivel de grado.
