Dear Canyon Crest Parents and Guardians,

Today’s message weighs heavily. As this chapter comes to a close, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible Canyon Crest community.

Over 15 years ago, I completed my student teaching here at Canyon Crest Elementary. Even then, I recognized that this school was a truly special place. While my journey initially took me elsewhere, I always carried the hope that I would one day return. I never imagined that return would be as the principal—what a humbling and meaningful full-circle moment it has been.

Serving as principal over the past three years has been one of the greatest honors and joys of my career. I have felt an extraordinary sense of love and connection to this school—its remarkable students, dedicated faculty and staff, and supportive families. The experiences I have had and the relationships I have built here have left a lasting imprint on my heart.

I know that parents have many choices when it comes to their child’s education. Thank you for choosing Canyon Crest. Thank you for trusting me to lead and care for your children. It is a responsibility and stewardship I have taken seriously, and I hope your children have always felt seen, supported, validated, and loved by me as their principal.

While I am sad to be saying goodbye, I am also excited to continue supporting our students in a new capacity as the incoming principal of Centennial Middle School. I take great comfort in knowing that our work together—anchored in our mission and vision, ROAR values, STEM focus, and continuous growth—will continue under the leadership of Principal Mark Burge, who I know will be a wonderful addition to the Canyon Crest family.
