Connie Stone

Welcome to Mrs. Stone’s Class 2020-2021  I hope you all enjoyed your summer! I am excited to get back into the swing of things and really look forward to working with all of you!  I just wanted to share a little background about me. I was born and raised in Hong Kong where I grew up speaking 3 languages-Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. I have a loving husband to whom I’ve been married to for 36 years. Together, we have one daughter in the medical field and a son-in-law in aviation. They have given me my only grandson this past year, who I absolutely adore. I have lived in the states since completing my undergraduate studies at BYU Hawaii. I graduated with several degrees in  Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Secretarial Science,  and Office Management.  I went on to complete my graduate studies at BYU Provo and received a Masters in Education with an emphasis in special education. I have been teaching all elementary grade levels and age groups for well over 25 years. I am a reading, teaching english as second language, math, and S.T.E.M. endorsed educator. I am also a life long learner and love to share my passion for learning with all my students. I keep myself up to date on the latest research pertaining to the most effective teaching methods to apply in my classroom. I want to equip my students with the knowledge and skills that they need to thrive in the world we live in today.

As we’re all aware, this coming school year is going to be unique and present some new challenges with blended online and classroom learning schedules. Please be patient with me, yourselves, the kids, and the online programs as this is going to be a new experience for all of us.  I understand that every family situation has its own unique challenges, but I want every family to be successful no matter your circumstances. I want you all to know that I am always available to answer questions and provide you with the resources you need to help your kids be successful. I am willing to spend time answering emails or meeting with you  via zoom or in person to address your concerns or give you any additional tools you need to help your kids understand the curriculum. This will be easier for me to do outside of classroom hours, but I will do my best to make myself available whenever you need me. I commit to dedicate all my time and resources to give your children the highest quality education possible, but please remember that you are and will always be your child’s biggest advocate and most important instructor. The love you instill for learning in your kid’s lives will provide them with the foundation they need to set them up for success for the rest of their lives. While it may seem frustrating, daunting, and overwhelming at times, don’t give up! I believe that with a little flexibility and creativity, together we will be able to make this year productive and enjoyable for everyone! I am confident that we’ll create some great memories this school year!
