For the past several weeks, Provo City School District has been working tirelessly to develop options for the upcoming school year. Now that final guidance has been received from the state, we are able to being to provide families with preliminary details of the options that will be available for students.

Each student in Provo is important and, as a district, we want to provide opportunities for each student to receive a high quality education in Provo City School District. We are focusing the majority of our resources and efforts toward having all students receive At-School Learning:  face-to-face instruction, at the school, every day.  As indicated in the responses to the parent survey sent out by the district, a majority would like students to return to the school.  We also recognize that this approach may not work for some families or students.  Therefore, we will also offer Digital Learning for those who need it.

The plan is to release additional information regarding At-School Learning and Digital Learning options to families following the July 14 School Board meeting.  However, the plan will continue to be updated and developed as needed following the board meeting. In order to help families prepare, the following summaries are being considered:

At-School Learning All students receive instruction at the school every day – full time. Parents perform daily wellness checks of each student before school attendance. Physical/social distancing will be implemented where possible. Bus students must wear face masks and will have assigned seating. Enhanced sanitizing practices and routines will be implemented. IEP and 504 plans will be met.

Digital Learning Students will be assigned a Provo Digital Learning teacher. Primary instruction will be focused on reading, writing, mathematics, and science; with supplemental support in other curricular areas. IEP and 504 plans will be met. Those who choose Digital Learning will need to stay with that option for the first term/quarter of the year.

Please look for more additional information in your email, on the district website, and on district social media platforms following the July 14 board meeting.

Thank you for your support.
