Please note the following announcements.

1. Lockdown Drill – Friday, September 30

We will have a Lockdown Drill on Friday, September 30.  Please let your child know to anticipate this drill.

2. Fall Festival – Friday, October 7

From PTA: Fall Fest will be Oct. 7th from 4:30-7pm. It will be a fun night with booths and games, a bounce house, popcorn, cotton candy, face painting, prizes and more! 3. School Fundraiser – Café Zupas on Wednesday, September 28

We invite all families to support our Canyon Crest fundraiser by dining at Café Zupas this Wednesday, September 28 anytime between 4:00pm – 9:00pm.  Make sure to mention to the cashier that you are with the fundraiser.  

4. PTA Reflections

PTA Reflections are coming up!  Please see information at the following link: https://www.utahpta.org/reflections-information-reflections-specialists.  This is a great opportunity for students to showcase the skills, talents, and interests.  Please encourage your child to participate.

5. Walk to School Day – Wednesday, October 5

From PTA: Wednesday, October 5th is National Walk and Bike to School Day! We’ll have a small reward outside the main front doors to hand out to all students who walk, bike, or scooter to school that day. If you live too far away, or in an area without a good, safe route to have your child(ren) walk the whole way, consider driving them most of the way and have them walk the last few blocks to school! Coordinate with neighbors! Make it fun (and safe, of course)!!!

6. We Are Hiring!

We are hiring instructional assistants (classroom aides and interventionists)!  If you or anyone you know would be interested in working at Canyon Crest, please direct them to our website postings (links below).  Please reach out to our facilitator, Deanna Lee, if you have any questions ( deannal@provo.edu).

7. Update PowerSchool Account Information

Provo City School District is asking that all parents access their Parent Portal Account in PowerSchool to update information for the 2022-2023 school year and review important district policies.  If you have not yet updated your PowerSchool account, please do so before the end of the day on Friday, September 30.  If this is not completed before the end of the day on Friday, September 30, students may not be able to use district computers/Chromebooks starting Monday, October 3.  Please use the following link to update your PowerSchool account: https://grades.provo.edu.  The system will not allow you to update through the mobile application, you must use a web browser.

Instructions:

-Login

-Click on yearly update

-Click on registration next to your child’s name

-Go through each page and make sure the information is correct. If you need to change something, please make the changes.

-Click on save form at the bottom of each page.

*On one of the pages you will have to type your name and on another page you will have to click yes for the use of computers in school. Just make sure that you click on save form at the bottom of each page. If you have missed something it will let you know, and you will be prompted to fix the issue before moving on. The last page is pink and you will need to type your name and click the completed box then click save form.  Please reach out to Tiffany McCloud ( tiffanymc@provo.edu) if you need your username and password.  Please let Tiffany know if you have any questions.
