Canyon Crest Elementary School

Canyon Crest Parents/Guardians,

Please note the following announcements.

1. Brief Research Opportunity For Your School

My name is Dakin Stovall, and I am a doctoral student in the psychology department at Brigham Young University (BYU). I am conducting a research study, along with my collaborators, Jenny Rowley (EdS student) and Amy Hawks (EdS student) examining sustainability and inclusion in schools and school districts which offer dual language learning (DLI) programs. This research project has been approved by BYU’s Human Research Protection Program and was developed in consultation with Utah State Board of Education personnel.

It is our hope to include each voice regarding the DLI enrollment decision and experience.

The survey is anticipated to take 5-15 minutes and can be accessed here.

Participation in this survey is voluntary and anonymous. You will also have an opportunity to share your contact details for a confidential interview to voice more about your experience.

Thank you for sharing your voice and giving the opportunity for those in your reach to share their voices too.

2. ROAR Pick-Up/Drop-Off Safety Lesson

This morning, our students learned how to show ROAR behaviors at pick-up and drop-off.  We wanted to make sure parents had this information, as well.  If you can please help to keep our students safe by reinforcing these ROAR behaviors, that would be much appreciated.  ROAR Pick-Up/Drop-Off Safety Lesson.

3. STEM Night

Canyon Crest is hosting STEM Night on March 21st from 6 to 7:30 pm. More information to come.

4. Opportunity to Contribute to Easter Basket Auction

The Provo City School District Foundation holds a yearly auction to raise funds to help the district provide academic support in extended-day programs for our students. These programs include summer school, after school programs, and all day kindergarten to name a few.

We had a successful auction in 2022 and want to keep that momentum going into this year. The date for this year’s auction is March 27, 2023.

We are looking for any donations that can be auctioned off at the upcoming event.  We invite you to provide a donation if you feel comfortable and are interested.  Please share this information with others who may be interested, including local businesses.  Optional donations may include:
