Every week or so, we will be posting a story about one of our wonderful support staff members here at Canyon Crest. We want everyone to know just how lucky we all are to have such great people working here at our school.

Name: Ms Ang

Title: School Social Worker

My role at Canyon Crest: There are many barriers that could possibly hinder students’ academic success and that is why Ms Ang is here at Canyon Crest. Whether it be social, emotional, or behavioral concerns, Ms Ang is a vital part of the total educational process. Ms Ang supports and collaborates with school personnel and community resources to help maximize success in the classroom and in life by offering a wide array of services including but not limited to:

Psychoeducational groups

Behavior management

Short term counseling

Suicide prevention, assessment, and intervention

Truancy interventions

Connecting families with goods or resources

She strives to help all students at Canyon Crest feel safe, make healthy meaningful connections, and have confidence so that they and their families can thrive. Ms Ang loves all aspects of her job and working at Canyon Crest but especially enjoys advising Hope Squad and Student Council and helping with Kindness Ambassadors and Kindness Club. She loves empowering students to be leaders, stand up for kindness and be a kind friend to everyone.

One interesting fact about Ms Ang is that she traveled to 30 National Parks in one year for her 30th birthday. WOW!
