Our fourth graders had a food-filled STEM lesson when they constructed towers out of spaghetti and marshmallows on Friday.  This engineering lesson required that students use unusual materials, understand their properties, and try to construct the tallest tower.  The students were completely engaged in the effort and learned a lot from this hands-on learning activity.  In fact, it definitely stirred some “food for thought”.
