The Caldecott Challenge is a reading program for Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade students at Canyon Crest. After reading a Caldecott book, students write the title of the book in one box on their Caldecott Challenge Card. Once all 25 boxes are filled, students need to get the required signatures and turn in the card to Mrs. Naylor in the library. Each student that completes their card will receive a handmade sketch book and a pencil. Who knows…maybe one of our students will be a Caldecott Winning Artist someday!

One of our Kindergarteners, Eddy, went home from library on Monday so excited about the Caldecott challenge that he and his Mom found all the books they owned that were Caldecotts and then ran to the library to get the rest!

We hope that all of our students get this excited about the Caldecott Challenge.
