Safety Week

This week is Safety Week at Canyon Crest! We will have lunch recess activities on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  On Wednesday, students will also learn how to respond to strangers/intruders at/around the school.  On Friday, students will participate in an evacuation drill.  Thank you to our amazing Safety Committee who helped to plan our Safety Week.

Storybook Pumpkin Patch

We are growing a storybook pumpkin patch, and we need your help! Decorate a pumpkin to look like one of your favorite book characters, and bring it to school to plant in our Storybook Pumpkin Patch. Please view the flyer for all the information and Entry Form. Extra forms are in the library.

Secure Vestibules

Provo City School District is prioritizing student safety by implementing secure vestibules across all elementary schools in the district.  Canyon Crest was one of the first to implement a secure vestibule this school year (Woo!).  Please find out more at the following link: https://provo.edu/news/schools-secure-vestibules-to-strengthen-security/

PTA Reflections

Reflections is just about two weeks away and Fall Break could be a great time to get your students to work on their Reflections entries.

The theme this year is ‘Show Your Voice!’ and students can enter pieces in: 2-d art, 3-d Art, Dance Choreography, Writing, Film, Music or Photography. Students can submit in more than one category. We recognize every student who participates and it can be a great opportunity to boost confidence (I know it was for me as a kid, which is why I choose to be a part of Canyon Crest now).

The due date for all of the entries is October 24th. Please submit online at the Utah PTA website.

We’d love to see as many students be a part of this beautiful program as possible this year, so please encourage these creative kids to make something!

Please also snap a photo of your student with their entry (or working on their entry) and send it to  canyoncrestreflections@gmail.com so we can include everyone in the slide show at the assembly.
