Please note the following weekly announcements.

1. 2025 SCHOOL END DATE – WEDNESDAY, MAY 21 Please note that our district’s Board of Education approved an adjustment to the 2024-2025 school year calendar. The last day of school for this school year will be on Wednesday, May 21. Please plan accordingly.

2. PCSD CELL PHONE AND ELECTRONICS POLICY Information about the PCSD Cell Phone and Electronics Policy can be found by reading the policy in full at the following link: Cell Phone and Electronics Policy

This policy will begin implementation starting Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Please note that we received clarification that elementary students are permitted to wear smart watches under the understanding that they do not cause a distraction or disrupt the learning environment (e.g., notifications are silenced, students do not send or respond to messages, students do not answer calls, etc.).

3. STEM FAIR INFORMATION Please see the link for STEM Fair information: STEM Fair Information. Please note the next sign-off activity is due tomorrow, Tuesday, January 7.

4. CHOIR STARTS TUESDAY, JANUARY 7 From our music teacher, Mrs. Parker: “Parents of choir students – we will resume choir rehearsals on Tuesday, January 7. Remember to come in through the west facing doors. They will be unlocked at 7:50 am. If your child did not participate in choir in the fall, but would like to participate for the spring concert, please email Mrs. Parker at laurenpa@provo.edu, and feel free to send them to choir on January 7! See you then!”

5. HEALTH AND WELLNESS UPDATE From our school nurse, Necia Bess: “The health department has asked that with school starting back up, that we remind students and parents the importance of helping to prevent the spread of illnesses, particularly the norovirus. Norovirus is a highly contagious illness that can cause stomach-related symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.” Please see additional information at the attachments below.

8. GIANT STEPS PRESCHOOL Canyon Crest is excited to partner with Wasatch Behavioral Health and welcome the Giant Steps Preschool program to the school! Giant Steps is for preschool children who have autism.
