Provo City School District

Canyon Crest Elementary School

We are excited to welcome the following new faculty and staff members to Canyon Crest!

Tami Anderson – Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Teacher I’m Tami Anderson. I have had a long and very happy career in the Provo School District. I have a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. I taught in the Provo School District for 36 years! I have taught grades 1-5 at three different schools as well as taking on the roll of an Instructional coach in the District office in Provo. At the end of the 2022-23 school year, I retired for one year and couldn’t stay away! I returned to Canyon Crest to continue working with students grades K-3 as the MTSS specialist. I am over the moon excited to be here. I have many longtime friends working at Canyon Crest and I am very pleased to be here.

Alison Olmstead – Reading Interventionist I’m originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I came to Provo 19 years ago to study Art History at BYU and never left. I fell in love with books listening to my mother bring to life classics such as The Three Musketeers, Winnie the Pooh, and The Black Cauldron before bed each night. Some of my favorite childhood memories involve her acting out epic battle scenes, becoming more animated as the pages continued, until remembering she was supposed to be reading us to sleep. As an avid reader, I understand the value of strong reading skills in developing confidence and a love of learning. I’m excited to join the Canyon Crest team and to support our students’ growth and success!

Henry Armond – Math Interventionist I am from Provo Utah, and have lived here for most of my life. I have always enjoyed learning and math has always been one of my favorite subjects. I graduated from Timpview in 2019 and have been teaching myself cybersecurity since then. I am excited at the opportunity to help kids develop math skills and form a great foundation for learning. I have always loved space and am looking forward to helping on space lab missions, as well.

Hideko Lee – Art Specialty Instructor I am Hideko Lee, the art specialty instructor. I was born and raised in Japan. After graduating Japanese high school, I went to BYU – Hawaii. There, I earned a commercial art and fine art degree with an emphasis in watercolor painting and ceramics. I have taught art at Wasatch Elementary in Provo for 24 years. Now, I am at Canyon Crest, and very excited about teaching K-6. I hope I can help all students to be the best they can be through art.

Brynlie Faurot – Special Education Instructional Assistant I am originally from Utah, but travel to the Pacific Northwest often since it feels like home. She loves to immerse herself in the outdoors and take time to create art. You can most likely find her practicing yoga in the mountains, reading at local coffee shops, baking sourdough, listening to classical music, and painting. She currently goes to school part-time so she can spend lots of time with the lovely students of Canyon Crest!
