Wax Museum Success
May 24th, 2023
Our 5th graders presented their WAX MUSEUM last week that they have been working on for quite a while. They all did such a great job! Here are some of the amazing people that were there. :-)...
Located up the South Fork of Provo Canyon, Camp Big Springs is the place where multiple generations within the Provo community have created some of their best memories.
Each summer, Provo City School District provides an Outdoor Education Program at Camp Big Springs. The summer STEM camp serves as an extension of the current fifth grade STEM curriculum.
Fifth grade students within the Provo City School District spend five days engulfed in hands-on science experiences, arts & crafts, sports & recreation, and campfire programs.
“This is an opportunity to get kids outside doing things and see that science isn’t just a classroom. Science goes everywhere and is really, most importantly done outside. Whether that’s biology, or physics, or engineering – we’re outside doing those things,” said Jon Mcilmoil, a physics teacher at Timpview High School who spends part of his summers teaching at Camp Big Springs.
The camp’s rich history stretches as far as 1969, and continues to make a profound impact on our students, our parents, and the community as a whole.
You can learn more on the Camp Big Springs Web page.
