1. No School on January 16 and 17
Due to the upcoming national holiday and teacher trainings, there will be no school for students on Monday, January 16 and Tuesday, January 17. Wednesday, January 18 will be an “A” day.
2. Ski School Equipment – Use Main Office Doors
If your child is participating in Ski School, please bring equipment through the Main Office doors. The doors near our Cafeteria should not be used and are intended to remain locked throughout the school day for safety reasons. If you have any questions about Ski School, please contact our school’s PTA.
3. PTA Meeting Tomorrow – Tuesday, January 10
We are looking forward to our monthly PTA Meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, January 10 at 10:00am. We hope to see you there!
4. Dual Language Immersion Program (DLI) Information Meeting for Parents of Kindergarten Students
The DLI program in Provo City School District gives elementary students the opportunity to gain high levels of proficiency in an additional language. The program is open to students of varying backgrounds and all ability levels. New families to the program with 1st graders for the 2023-24 school year are invited to attend an information meeting about DLI:

To apply, families must fill out an application before February 3rd online at www.provo.edu (click Departments, then Student Services, then Dual Language Immersion and fill out the application online). Students with siblings currently in the Dual Language Immersion program are required to submit an application. If you have any questions, call our district’s Student Services Department at 801-374-4838.
5. STEM Fest Kit Opportunity for 5th and 6th Grade Students
Provo City School District is hosting a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Fair at Centennial Middle School on Tuesday, February 10 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. They are looking for a few 5th and 6th grade students who would be interested in presenting a “Micro STEM Fest Kit.”
The Micro STEM Fest Kit is an easy-to-use, fun, and exciting STEM activity that challenges young students to learn STEM. It is designed to be facilitated by 5th and 6th grade students for 1st through 4th grade students to engage in.
Any interested students would be trained on the Micro STEM Fest Kit prior to the STEM Fair at Centennial Middle School. Students will also be provided with a small incentive for participating.

6. Extended Day (Before/After School) Programs Resuming Tuesday, January 17
Our Extended Day (Before/After School) Programs will resume Tuesday, January 17. We have lost some of our instructors and are looking for a new art and sports teacher.
7. School STEM Fair This Friday, January 13
We are excited to have our annual School STEM Fair this Friday, January 13! We will also be planning for a STEM Night Event later this school year. Thank you to all our wonderful students who are participating in this year’s School STEM Fair!
