I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break! I can’t believe how quickly time passes and that our school year is in the final quarter! We have had such an eventful year of exciting things happening at Canyon Crest, and I look forward to the great learning and activities we will continue to experience right up to the last day of school.

In our March message, Mrs. Cunningham explained what it means to become a STEM-designated school and the hard work and dedication all in our school community have contributed toward this goal. I am excited to announce that the Utah State School Board has officially approved Canyon Crest as a Platinum-level STEM school! This is the highest recognition level a school can receive. I am so proud of our school and community, and that we get to share with others what we have to offer by celebrating this recognition!

Another exciting announcement is the arrival of our long-awaited “Inchy’s Bookworm Vending Machine! You may have seen this new addition to our main entrance. Students will have the opportunity to earn a special coin to put in the machine and choose a book to take home and keep as a reward. Watch for more detail about this coming soon!

Year-end RISE and Acadience (Dibels) testing are now underway, so please encourage your student to get some good rest and a good breakfast before coming to school. We want students to be able to demonstrate the great skills they have learned this year. The testing window will continue through May 13th.

Our teachers are looking ahead to next year and will be making goals and plans based on parent feedback from our climate survey as well as working on class placements in the next several weeks. Please watch for a feedback/friend request form in your weekly email if you would like to submit one.

As we are headed into the final stretch of this school year and looking toward next year, I want to thank all of you for your continuous support of our students and staff and for making Canyon Crest such a positive and successful school community. I absolutely love working with our students, families, and staff!
