Secure Protocol Initiated and Now Lifted
Canyon Crest Parents/Guardians,
I hope this email finds you well on this snowy morning. The intent of this correspondence is to inform you of an event that took place at our school on Thursday, November 3rd.
Yesterday, we discovered a tree branch fell onto an electrical wire on the east side of our building. To ensure everyone’s safety, we initiated a Secure Protocol. This means in-school operations were able to continue as normal. Students and faculty/staff were instructed to stay inside the building and not go outside.
The fire department and Provo Power came to our campus to address the issue. The tree branch causing the issue fell off the wire. The fire department and Provo Power determined the area as safe and the Secure Protocol was lifted. Outside-school operations are now continuing as usual.
Parent Teacher Conferences (SEPs) will continue as planned this afternoon.
Please reach out to Tiffany McCloud if you have any questions (tiffanymc@provo.edu).
Thank you,
Dr. Edwards
