Our Dear Missed Canyon Crest Families,

I just wanted to send a brief July message to keep you as informed as possible regarding the return to school in August. First, we hope you are enjoying a relaxing and safe summer.

We are busy registering new students, Kindergarten through Sixth Grade, so please tell any friends or neighbors that we would love to have their students join us at Canyon Crest this year!

Teachers have been working hard this summer training on district implementations of the new “Into Math” program; our Spanish teachers are training with new Spanish language curriculum. In addition, all elementary teachers will be training this year on the Canvas platform to work with students, both in the classroom and remotely, to align district technology programs with our secondary schools. We appreciate the hard work our teachers are putting forth to give our students excellent learning opportunities.

We have had many inquiries from families about the details of the starting of school. District and school administrators have spent weeks preparing how we will welcome our students back to school, but safety guidelines are ever changing. A proposal for several school options for the 2020-2021 school year is currently being put in front of the Provo City School Board for approval, and information will be given to parents as soon as we are able to release the options and guidelines. Our number one priority has always been the safety and well-being of our students and staff, and we look forward to a great learning and healthy school year! More information will be coming your way from both the district and school sites in the near future.

May you continue having a relaxing and enjoyable summer!

Sincerely,

Rene Cunningham, Principal
