In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity of working with the most wonderful students, parents, and school staff ever! It is a pleasure coming to work every day!

We are looking forward to our first annual Veteran’s Day Celebration on Monday, November 11th. If you have a family member who is currently serving or has served in a branch of the military, or a neighbor who would enjoy attending a celebration in their honor, please invite them to our assembly and complimentary school lunch.

I’m excited to announce that we have hired a wonderful new STEM Coordinator, Megan Christensen. Megan is an educator and pleased to be at Canyon Crest. She is ready to begin STEM classes with our students this next week, and construction on our Space Lab is well under way. It won’t be long before we are up and running with our missions!

We’d like to thank all those who attended our Zupa’s Community Fundraiser Night. We had a wonderful time dining with friends and neighbors, and our school raised $420 which will be used toward grade level robotics for our students. We look forward to another fun community dinner night in January at The Habit.

Our students are working hard to boost our school attendance. In the month of October, 127 Canyon Crest students were at school and on time each day. This is a little lower than our September perfect attendance of 146 students, but we are confident that we can continue improving attendance for November.

Thank you to all of the parents who met with your child’s teacher(s) for Parent-Teacher Conferences. If you were not able to meet to discuss your child’s academic progress, please contact the school and make an appointment. We are shooting for 100% of our students being represented. The teachers look forward to meeting with you.

Wishing each of our Canyon Crest families a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday this month. And thank you for giving our faculty and staff reason to smile every day for having the pleasure of working with each wonderful student.

Sincerely,

Rene Cunningham, Principal
